Stress-free dental treatment

Visiting the dentist can be stressful for some patients, especially when suffering from dental anxiety or a dental phobia. Sleep dentistry is the solution for ensuring you get the treatment you need, without the worry.

At Dr Kat’s Alderley dental clinic, your comfort and well-being are our top priority and you can access both inhalation and IV sedation to reduce dental anxiety. Both these methods can help you remain calm during your dental treatment and put you in a relaxed or sedative state throughout your procedure.

Professional dental sedation in Alderley

Utilising the latest advancements in sleep dentistry, Dr Kat has an ANZCA Specialist Anaesthetist that administers IV sedation for adults and children – ensuring you’re in the best hands possible throughout your dental treatment. While you won’t be asleep, you’ll be in a relaxed, dream-like state to ensure you don’t feel any pain or stress during the procedure.

With a strong focus on your comfort and well-being, Dr Kat’s skilful application of sedation techniques will ensure your dental experience is both relaxing and stress-free, whether it’s a simple filling or more complex cosmetic dental treatment.

IV sedation for pain-free dental treatment

IV sedation is suitable for a range of dental procedures and offers a pain-free experience for the most complex dental treatment. To prepare, it’s vital to fast for six hours before your appointment.

Even though it wears off quickly, you may be tired after IV sedation. Please bring a friend or family member to drive you home after your treatment. For payment, each session of IV sedation attracts a medicare rebate, which can help to cover a large portion of the IV sedation fee.

Nitrous oxide sedation

Nitrous oxide (happy gas) is administered via a mask or nose cover and only takes approximately 20 minutes to become effective. You’ll feel a sense of calm and relaxation while being fully conscious throughout your procedure. After your treatment is complete, you’ll be given oxygen to clear out any leftover nitrous oxide in your system.
